Black and White // Jellies, Rays, and Sea Horses
While on our Trip to Rockport, Matthew and I made our way to the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi! I decided to edit my favorite photos in extreme black and white to create something different, and I'm completely in love with the way they turned out. A lot of these were really difficult for me to get a good focus on because of the glass. Removing all of the color and increasing the contrast totally saved them and gives them a sense of mystery/magic in my opinion :) Enjoy!

At The Zoo // Dallas Zoo

Mandrill's have the most beautiful facial coloration! Did you know they're the world's largest monkey? |
For the first time in 4 years, Matthew and I visited the Dallas Zoo! We normally visit the Fort Worth Zoo because it's closer and we absolutely love it, but we're challenging ourselves to visit all of the Zoo's in Texas this year! One down and nine to go! The weather was on our side at a breezy mid-60s, and admission was only $5 because of a January special they have going on. How perfect is that?

Backyard Adventure // A New Lens!
For the past few months, I've been intent on saving and purchasing a 105mm macro lens, but with the cool weather and lack of wildlife photo ops, I decided I would be better off ordering a new zoom lens! I still plan on adding the 105mm to my gear collection sometime this year, but I'm so happy with my choice to get the zoom lens. I ended up saving a few hundred dollars, and I can now take photos like the one above without disturbing the subject! Yay!
